$244,000 raised for 2022 Grants to Local Nonprofits

On Wednesday, June 8, we held our Membership Celebration and Big Reveal event at Barge Design Solutions in Nashville. We were excited to announce that $239,000 was the amount of 2022 grant funds based on the total number of members but that amount has since increased to $244,000! Can you help us get to $250,000?

The Big Reveal event marks the beginning of the 2022 grants cycle during which members work together to select the 2022 grant finalists from among all applicants.  Dozens of nonprofits participate in a competitive grants review process that includes written proposals, site visits, and presentations.

This year, two organizations will receive $100,000 each and the additional funds raised over $200,000 will be awarded to organizations categorized as “new and emerging.” Grants are awarded to area nonprofits based on their proposals for Ending the Cycle of social issues such as homelessness, addiction or abuse. Each Impact100 Nashville member has one vote to select grant recipients at the Annual Voting Event which will take place in November.

At The Big Reveal event, members and guests heard from grant recipient Retrieving Independence, which received $21,500 in 2016 to purchase a bus to transport service dogs to and from the Turney Center Correctional Facility where their service dogs are trained. The dogs are transported from the Turney Center to Brentwood where volunteers meet and pick up the dogs for weekend socializations. The star of the evening was Willow, a Retrieving Independence puppy who will be trained and placed with someone who is living with a physical, mental or emotional disability.
