SEPTEMBER 2021
WE NEED YOUR HELP THIS WEEK!

Impact100 Nashville is being featured by the Impact100 Global Organization in national media.  We need your help representing our chapter in two ways:

First:  Can you be part of a chapter picture on Tuesday, September 28 at 11:30 am?
The location is Barge Design at 615 3rd Ave S., Nashville, Suite 700.
The picture will take less than an hour. If you can come, DRESS ALL IN BLACK and
please send an email to info@nashville.impact100council.org at which time parking instructions will be sent.

Second:  Could you give us 10 minutes of your time (or less) by taking a one-minute video of yourself using your smartphone?
In the video, answer the following questions:

  • What has membership in Impact100 meant to you?

  • How has Impact100 affected your community? What difference has our chapter made locally?

  • How has Impact100 Global helped our chapter, or you, as a leader, to be more successful?

Send the completed video to info@nashville.impact100council.org
by October 1.  Thank you!

The Board of Directors made the difficult decision to change the November 4 voting event to a virtual event instead of in-person.

Please join us VIRTUALLY on Thursday, November 4th at 5:30 pm for the most exciting event of the year – our Annual Voting Event where members exercise their important role in choosing the non-profits to receive Impact100 Nashville transformative grants. This year Impact100 Nashville will be awarding two $101,500 grants to two of eight non-profit semi-finalists. Join us on Zoom to hear the four finalist presentations and cast your vote.  Our voting event aligns with all other Impact100 chapters around the country in a National Day of Giving for Impact100.

An invitation will be coming soon with the registration link.
If you register by October 25th, we will have a gift bag and tote for you to pick up prior to the event.  More details to follow.

We are pleased to announce the following eight organizations as semi-finalists for the two $101,500 grants being awarded at the November 4 Membership and Voting Event.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee

  • Bridges of Williamson County

  • End Slavery Tennessee

  • Mending Hearts, Inc.

  • Nashville Conflict Resolution Center

  • Native American Indian Association of Tennessee (NAIA)

  • Our Place Nashville

  • Tennessee Kids Belong

Each of these organizations has gone through two rounds of scrutiny from our Grants Committee Reviewers.  Over 50 organizations submitted a Letter of Intent(LOI).  Those LOIs were scored by the Grants Committee, and from that group, 16 were invited to submit a full application.  Those applications were reviewed in detail by the committee.  Applications were scored based on the quality of the application, the degree to which the organization’s programming ends a serious social cycle, specificity of the use of grant money, and the magnitude of the projected impact of the grant on the Nashville community.

  • The mission of the Native American Indian Association (NAIA) of Tennessee is to provide social and supportive services and cultural revitalization for the more than 25,000 Native American Indians living throughout Tennessee and to promote Native American Indian arts and crafts.

  • Ending the Cycle of hardship caused by historical disenfranchisement of Native Americans

  • Proposed use of funds: Grant will aid in covering construction costs for the Circle of Life Indian Cultural Center

  • Mending Hearts helps women restore their lives from addiction through a long-term treatment program that offers hope and healing in a supportive community environment – regardless of their ability to pay.

  • Ending the Cycle of addiction and homelessness through its long-term treatment program

  • Proposed use of funds: Grant will serve 325 women over 2 years by contributing funds toward 5 programs: Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Peer Support Community and Independent Living

  • Nashville Conflict Resolution Center empowers individuals and families to resolve and move beyond conflict through mediation.

  • Ending the Cycle of negative police involvement disproportionately affecting black and brown communities

  • Proposed use of funds: Grant will fund the Youth and Police Summit to foster healthy relationships between Nashville youth and law enforcement, in partnership with MNPD’s Alternative Police Strategies Unit

  • Our Place Nashville empowers adults with developmental disabilities by providing homes that are affordable, work that is meaningful, and inclusive communities in which to live.

  • Ending the Cycle of lacking, affordable housing for individuals with developmental disabilities

  • Proposed use of funds: Grant will help construct a community space at a new cluster of houses on Elysian Fields, will build a small inside/outside gathering space at an existing Friendship House, and will help furnish the spaces

  • Tennessee Kids Belong equips the community to dramatically change the experience and outcomes for children in foster care.

  • Ending the Cycle of unadopted kids aging out of foster care, which leads to staggeringly high outcomes in homelessness, trafficking, addiction, incarceration, pregnancy, and unemployment

  • Proposed use of funds: This grant would fund the majority of the budget for filming children in Nashville in need of a forever family, through the “I Belong Project” and recruitment efforts to get them placed in adoptive homes in 2022

  • End Slavery Tennessee’s mission is to promote the healing of human trafficking survivors and strategically confront slavery in our state.

  • Ending the Cycle of human trafficking (specifically for clients with physical disabilities with this grant)

  • Proposed use of funds: ESTN will utilize funding to ensure equitable access to residential programming for survivors with disabilities by renovating a safe house to be ADA-compliant

  • The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

  • Ending the Cycle of intergenerational poverty that affects many of the youth served through mentoring programs

  • Proposed use of funds: Funding will be used for the implementation of the Mentor Corps Fellowship (MCF), a program that will help increase access to mentors most requested by young people

  • The mission of Bridges Domestic Violence Center is to serve area women, men, and their children affected by domestic violence, ensuring a safe transition to successful independent community living through instruction, intervention, and case management

  • Ending the Cycle of domestic violence

  • Proposed use of funds: Grant will enable shelter to add one bedroom and bathroom so that they can increase their capacity to serve one more family at a time (an increase of 481 individuals per year)

The eight organizations chosen to move forward in the process will now participate in site visits attended by members of Impact100 Nashville (all members are invited).
Site visits will all be virtual and will take place between October 5-22.
Watch your email for details about the site visit dates, locations and the links for registration.  The site visits will be graded by participants, and from those visits, four organizations will be selected as finalists to present live to members at our November 4 voting event at which the two grant recipients will be chosen.

This process is fundamental to Impact100 mission and purpose.
Please get involved by participating in a site visit and voting on November 4.
