   Greetings Impact100 Nashville!

We are nearing the end of our membership cycle for 2021.  If you were in a member in the past, please consider rejoining and help us make an even bigger IMPACT for our Nashville community.  This will be our biggest grant year ever – and we’d like nothing better than to give TWO $100,000 grants this year.  Please talk to your friends and network about being part of this important work.
We now have an “Easy Pay” option, whereby members begin paying $100/month in June and finish their annual contribution by the end of our membership cycle in May of 2022.  To sign up for “Easy Pay” contact finance@nashville.impact100council.org.  You are eligible to participate in all member events (except screening and voting on grants) during this next year, but you pay over time.

Announcing New Grant Application Dates and Cycle

The open period for Grant Letters of Intent will begin May 31, 2021.  The category remains “Ending the Cycle” – of deprivation, addiction, abuse, homelessness and the like.  To ensure that organizations have adequate resources and infrastructure to effectively utilize a $100,000 grant, we have changed our eligibility criteria to require that the non-profit have an operating budget of a minimum of $500,000.  This minimum operating budget was listed as a preference in the past, but will now be a requirement of all applicants.

Volunteer for the Grants Committee

If you are interested in joining the grant committee please email Grants@nashville.impact100council.org. Chairperson Meredith Ficken is hosting a grants committee orientation on June 10th, from 11-11:45 am. Anyone who is planning to join or who would like to learn more about the process and commitment is welcome to join.

Mark Your Calendar for our Fall Voting Event

Our fall voting event to choose our grant recipients will be aligned with all other Impact100 organizations around the country and will take place on November 4.  We are planning to host this voting event as our first in-person all member event in almost two years! Watch the website and your email for details as the time nears.

A History of Impact100 Nashville Grant Awards
As we get ready to kick off the 2021 grants cycle, we thought it might be helpful to review the $367,000 in grants Impact100 Nashville has awarded since 2014 -- and how the funds were used by the non-profit grant recipients to further their missions.
2015
Tennessee Higher Education Initiative    $26,000 Grant
The grant was used to fund three college courses for a new cohort of 25 men who were incarcerated at the Turney Center Industrial Complex.
2016
Retrieving Independence   $21,500 Grant
The grant enabled the purchase of a bus to transport service dogs from the Turney Center Correctional Facility, where the dogs are trained to Brentwood, TN where volunteers meet and pickup the dogs for weekend socialization.
Safe Haven   $21,500 Grant
Safe Haven used the grant to invest in and grow their workforce development program, Employment 360, that provides access to employment for homeless clients by removing barriers to employment and providing pathways to better and more sustainable employment.
2017
Tennessee Alliance for Kids   $25,000 Grant
Tennessee Alliance for Kids used the grant for operating expenses.
Renewal House   $25,000 Grant
Renewal House hired a Peer Recovery Specialist with their grant money.
2018
Shower Up   $28,500 Grant
Shower Up used their grant to purchase a mobile shower unit thereby doubling the amount of showers they can provide the homeless.

Oasis Center   $28,500 Grant
Oasis Center used their grant to fund the REAL program (Reaching Excellence As Leaders) for court-involved youth.  It is a 13-week diversion program, seeking to end the cycle of youth violence and recidivism in Davidson County.
2019
The Family Reconciliation Center   $25,500 Grant
Family Reconciliation Center provides housing to the families of incarcerated individuals.  They used funds to make capital improvements to their house, purchased booking software and expanded their reach by engaging in a direct mail campaign.
Nashville Peacemakers   $25,500 Grant
The organization runs two programs for  youth in disadvantaged, low income areas (Straight Talk for young men and Back to Basics for young women).  They also lead a program for mothers who have lost children to gun violence.  The grant provided salaries for 3 program staff:  a facilitator, a licensed therapist, and a mental health professional.
Sexual Assault Center   $50,000 Grant
The grant funded the prevention 2-22 Project to break the cycle of intergenerational child sex abuse in Nashville, with a multifaceted communication campaign as well as delivery of training and digital toolkits that are age appropriate for preschool, K-12, and college age children.
2020
Raphah Institute    $90,000 Grant
The grant funds the organization’s program to educate the Nashville community on the prevalence of violence, effects of trauma, and the benefits of restorative justice.

From Nashville Peacemakers  2019 Grant Recipient

Thank you all at Impact Nashville. This grant was really a game changer. Not just because of the money but because of the exposure in the Nashville community and the elevation in the eyes of the philanthropic community. When you chose Nashville Peacemakers you deemed us a fundable organization, which is a big challenge for grassroots organizations like us.  In this past year we have garnered the attention of several influential individuals who want to sit on our board and have the wherewithal to continue drawing funding so that we can continue the trauma-release work and access to professional therapists started under this grant. We have also received funding to expand that to the B2b girls mentoring program based on the model created through the Impact grant.
So not only did you give us some fish you also helped us learn how to fish.

That is priceless.
Kind regards,
Cindy Montano

Sponsor Highlight:

Over the next few months, we will reserve this spot to tell you a little more about the corporate sponsors that help Impact100 Nashville by offsetting our organizational expenses such as give-aways, printing, mailing, and events.  We asked each sponsor to tell us a little bit about their organization; why they chose to be a corporate sponsor for Impact100 Nashville, and how Impact100 Nashville members could help support their business.

Studio Bank

Studio Bank is a boutique bank founded and located in Nashville, Tennessee.
Studio started like most things in Nashville, with a group of friends and a dream: What if a bank could become a force for creativity, instead of an obstacle to it? With that question in mind, we began to rethink and reinvent the typical banking experience. Fusing innovative technology with a zeal for genuine hospitality, we created a bank that is: uncommonly modern and surprisingly human.
Studio Bank provides organizations, families, and individuals with sophisticated financial services through a multi-channel delivery model allowing clients to bank anywhere, anytime.  The bank’s experienced banking team offers industry-specific expertise to clients in the fields of commercial banking, music and entertainment, healthcare, not-for-profit, commercial real estate, private client, mortgage banking, and small business, in addition to serving the broad and diverse Nashville community.
From our office on Demonbreun and through our community of members, we are relentlessly committed to the future of Nashville and its many influences beyond.  This includes supporting organizations and individuals who are “accelerating positive social change” in our community like the members of Impact100 Nashville.
Studio received its regulatory approval to become a bank in June 2018, making it the first true denovo (start-up) bank in Tennessee in over a decade. The bank initially raised $46 million in capital for its launch, one of the largest capital raises for new de novo banks launched across the country in that year.
April Britt, an executive and co-founder of Studio Bank, launched the Studio Women’s Collective in 2020 – a community for women leaders and women business owners to connect, collaborate, create, and celebrate with each other. This community has grown to over 600 women in less than 1 year!
