Letter from Michele Herlein, 2021 Chairwoman
Impact100 Nashville was a bright spot in another challenging year. Because of all of you and your support and dedication, we gave away $204,000, split evenly among two very deserving non-profits. We more than doubled our membership from 2020 allowing us to make an even greater impact in Greater Nashville. Because of all of you, Tennessee Kids Belong will be able to produce more videos so more foster children aging out of foster care will have a better chance to find their forever family. Additionally, women struggling with addiction will be able to get help through Mending Hearts because of your contributions.

I am so proud of what we have accomplished. It is in large part because of our incredible Executive Board and Advisory Board. This group of women are the ones who make things happen and get results for us.

We also have countless members who volunteer on the Grants Committee, Membership Committee, Marketing Committee, and Event Committee to support our efforts throughout the year. We wouldn’t be where we are today without all of you.

Our Corporate Sponsors and our members who give in our Member Plus category have allowed us to make additional improvements to our processes and systems.

Here are just a couple of highlights from the year:

  • Retained 90 percent of 2020 members.

  • Growth rate of 127%

  • Increased Corporate Sponsorships

  • Held two successful large virtual events for our members

  • Improved our grants and membership process

  • Implemented new ways to join Impact100 Nashville resulting in

    • Fifteen Evergreen Members

    • Six on Easy Giving plans

    • Three that were corporately sponsored

    • Seventy-seven Plus Members who gave more than the $1,000
      to help with operation costs.

On December 13, 2021, we gathered, voted in the new Board Members, and literally passed the baton on to those joining the board. This is a tradition we hope continues to carry on as we continue to grow this great organization.

I personally am looking forward to serving on the Grants Committee next year. After seven years of being on the Executive Board, and after three years serving as our President, I handed the Baton (literally) to Ginger Duncan who will be president next year.

There are four other Board Transitions occurring for 2022. I would like to give thanks to Kat Howard, Meredith Ficken, and Sue Herrman for their service to the Executive Board and Impact100 Nashville and welcome Tina Percy, Tiffany Coursey, Angela Vogeli and Liz Miller to the 2022 Impact100 Executive Board. Below is a list of the full 2022 Board.

  • Ginger Duncan, Chairwoman (previously Membership Director)

  • Susan Levy, Secretary

  • Tina Percy, Treasurer (previously Advisory Board)

  • Tiffany Coursey, Grants Director (previously Grant Committee Lead)

  • Angela Vogeli, Membership Director (previously Advisory Board)

  • Liz Miller, Events Director (previously Advisory Board)

  • Susan Groenwald, Marketing Director

  • Joanne Sowell, Community Liaison Director

  • Janet Wells, Corporate Sponsorship Director

  • Michele Herlein, Past President

You all have really made 2021 a bright spot for me! Combining my $1,000 contribution with all of your $1,000’s, we exponentially increased our philanthropic and social power to create change in our community. We certainly are better together!

Our goal is 300 members in 2022. Please share our mission with your friends and co-workers so we can have an even bigger impact in the coming year!

I wish each of you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

With Love,
Michele
